He told me that I was miscarrying. I was seriously hurt not at the “M” word, but his choice of words. “Products of Conception” was what he called my baby. How could he say that?? This was the gift that God blessed us with. This was the sweet result of the love that me and my husband had for each other. This was the bridge that would forever connect me and my husband. This was my future son or daughter. This was more than the "product of conception." Those three words were forever engrained in my mind.

Derra Byrd had a dream of one day becoming a mother. Little did she know that this journey would lead to several tragedies along the way. In dealing with these tragedies, Derra called upon the Lord to help her cope. In her book, she reveals how all of these tragedies correlated with a deeper faith than she had ever imagined. Take a journey with her to see how the Lord was able to teach through any situation. It is a revealing journey of faith.
About the Author
Derra Byrd had always enjoyed writing. Her first writing experiences were in high school through journalism and creative writing classes. Derra was also featured and published in a book displaying high school students who were selected based on their poetic skills. Her work had also gained her governor’s honors in her high school years.
In 2008, Derra Byrd discovered that her writing was about to change paths. She was involved in teaching AWANA at her church. She felt a calling from the Lord to really write out and teach some powerful messages to her middle-school age students. It was during these years of teaching AWANA that Derra and her family were faced with many devastating circumstances. In 2011, Derra felt the conviction of the Lord to write about these devastating situations and how her faith and trust in God helped her through. She is very thankful for everything that God has taught her and the faith that she has gained. Derra credits God for everything that she has in her life and knows that without God nothing would be possible.
