"Acknowledge and take to heart this day that the Lord is God in heaven above and on the earth below. There is no other." Deut. 4:39
God is the Lord over all creation, nothing is out of His control, there is nothing He hasn’t foreseen and planned. God reveals His plan to us as we go through time. We receive revelation from God through scripture and through His Holy Spirit that has been given to us. He already sees the end, the finished product; love perfected in us. We on the other hand, see the flaws, and find ourselves struggling to make sense of it all. If only we could learn to trust and believe more in Him and in His wisdom and rely less on our own devises. It is God’s joy to bless us with the peace we find in knowing Him. He Himself is our great reward and prize if only we would believe and trust Him. We serve a God with all power and authority. He is wisdom itself and He is good. This is the God we surrender to. He holds all of life itself and every living creature that has breath in His hand. He has purchased us with His own blood and we are His.

Hearts in Devotion, by Christine Gaeta, is a collection of original daily devotionals that seek to bring encouragement and inspiration, serving to draw readers into a deeper walk with the Lord. Relationship with God is the central part of our Christian lives. Seek Him first every morning upon awakening is an important key in building strong faith and loving relationship with God and others.
About the Author
My devotional reading group, called Hearts in Devotion, began in 2005 when a girlfriend and I would get together every Friday afternoon and read A. W. Tozer. As time went by, more of our friends from our church (North Coast Calvary Chapel in Carlsbad, California) joined our reading group, and in a few years HID grew to about two hundred members who shared devotionals of the classic and modern Christian authors online via e-mail.
This book is a compilation of original devotionals that I wrote during that time. My spiritual journey began when I was twenty-one years old. I spent the next ten years searching for the meaning of love, life, and creation through New Age meditation and in the beauty found in nature while traveling and hiking around Northern California and Arizona. I always believed in Jesus as a child, but did not know or understand the Bible until I was invited to attend an evangelical church, where, for the first time, I heard the gospel message. I have never been the same since.
Thirty years have gone by, and the Lord has been so faithful through many ups and downs in my life. Today, I live in Carlsbad, California, with my husband and our Maltese dog, Amore. I continue to work with the Women’s Ministries at North Coast Calvary Chapel. I also write lyrics and create oil paintings that are inspired by my faith and by biblical scriptures.
