About the Author
Dottie Basye of Star, Idaho is a tireless Christian great-grandmother who first told this story on a rainy family camp-out. She and her husband Bill owned and operated a grocery store in McCall for 32 years, were foster-parents to many children, and helped found The Shepherd’s Home.
Linda Going Varnes is a college art instructor with paintings in local Idaho galleries and stained glass windows in several California churches. Her designs have contributed to 9 Lutheran Hour floats in the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade. She and her husband Walt reside in Nampa, Idaho
