Nodding, Amanda closed her eyes and shut out everything. When she heard the door quietly close, she cried softly, ashamed of her continuous lies and terrified of telling the truth. How had she done such a thing? She’d always been an obedient, loving daughter, and now she’d done things beyond her imagination, things only “bad” girls did. A gamut of emotions ran through her—fear, repulsion, shame, dread, disgust, anger, and even repentance.
As she lay on her bed crying, words of a song came to mind, something about the fact no one ever gives themselves away in an instant; instead, it’s a slow process. Looking back, she saw she had done just that—given herself away slowly. Her rebellion to her parents, her friendship with Delilah, her disobedience, her lying and deceit—all had happened over a period of time and had brought her to the night before, and now she had to pay the price. Her heart breaking, she sobbed uncontrollably.

About the Book
Amanda desperately wants to go with Delilah to the party, wherever it is and whoever is throwing it. She is sick and tired of being a good girl; she wants to step out and have some fun. It’s her senior year of high school; how is she going to handle going to college next year if she isn’t allowed to make decisions without her parents’ input all the time? She wants to experience life, and Delilah knows how to live!
Amanda suffers the consequences of rebellion and disobedience as she follows her best friend, Delilah, down a path of destruction—but she also discovers the abiding love of family, repentance and forgiveness, restoration and healing, and the unfathomable grace of God.
About the Author
Barbara Stewart has been an avid reader and writer all her life. She believes in the sanctity of life from conception, and her deep desire is to have this story save unborn babies and educate girls about the truth of God’s Word. Barbara lives in Durham, North Carolina, with her husband, Bob; when she is not writing, she enjoys gardening, crocheting, entertaining, cooking, and spending time with their five children and seven grandchildren, all of whom live in the area.
