Mother was not a celebrity. However, once you were in the same room with her, you felt like you had been in the presence of one. And, more importantly, she made you feel like one. When she walked into a room, there wa just something about her that made you want to watch her. Yes, she was a beautiful lady to gaze upon but she just had an air about her which made everyone feel special. Her quiet genteel ways were like the kiss of a cool gentle breeze on a hot summer day. Susella had a twinkle in her eyes offering a hint of the humor which bubbled out in young girl giggles when least expected. And more times than not, she seemed to surprise even herself with the comical lines that came out as if it came from somewhere else. And all of us who had the privilege and blessing of knowing her were convinced we knew where this somewhere else was - heaven. She was just so good and kind we knew she was sent to us as a glorious gift. And her purpose for being sent here was to show everyone how best to live life....In the following pages my plan is to reveal a way of living which provides love, peace, and joy for all who are willing to practice Susella's legacy. No, I have not attained total fulfillment in practical applications of Mother's adages but I strive daily to improve. I believe I am simply the conduit or messenger and a student myself. I'm convinced had I not been with Mother for fifty-four years to observe and learn I would probably be worth nothing or even dead by now. She and Daddy lived a life I wanted to experience. This is not to say they did not live through hard times and heart breaks for they had more than their fair share. But the way they handled daily living even during difficulties was one of grace and dignity at all times. I realized early but even more now what a unique living example this couple represented not just to the family but all who came in contact with them. Please join me on this journey of life principles.

About the Author
Sharon Tate wrote regular feature articles on home decorating for her local newspaper for many years while she owned and operated a home furnishings business. She was the first female to serve as president of the Southern Home Furnishings Association, headquartered in High Point, North Carolina. Also during this time, she was very active in her local church, serving as pianist and adult Sunday school teacher. She still serves as pianist and leads a ladies’ Bible study. She later closed her business to be caregiver for her ailing mother. Soon after her mother's death, she chose to write through the grief about her mother, while continuing the caregiver role to her beloved father. Sharon lives in Sparta, Tennessee, with her husband, where she continues to write and looks forward to publication of future books on other topics, including decorating, entertaining, as well as works of fiction and other Christian-based subjects.
