Why Is There So Much Strife In The World, or in other words, “Why Can’t We All Just Get Along”?
The answer to this question is quite a paradox in the modern world because it will simultaneously enkindle within each one of us both a sense of great hope and one of great consternation. While it is very simple to understand intellectually, which will give rise to great hope; the consternation comes from the fact that the only way in which we will be able to transcend the current difficulties in this world is to—as much as each one of us is individually able—conquer ourselves by both first noticing, and then attempting to eradicate, the faults within our own behavior and attitudes which are contributing to the current levels of social strife which are spiraling into an ever-increasing crescendo of combativeness; for it is a perverse component of our human nature to ever so easily find fault in others while excusing, or not even noticing, those that exist within ourselves. Directly to the point, the primary reason why we can’t all get along in this world is due to the great cultural battle(s) which have erupted all over the world—primarily within the past several centuries—which; when traced back to their ultimate cause(s); can be seen as a violent eruption of insane rage in opposition to sanity.
To understand this reality, the reader has to understand what is sane and what is insane. Considering the age we live in, the situation of the world today demonstrates a classic philosophical observation: “In a world of insanity, the sane are considered insane.” It is this author’s desire to demonstrate the insanity of today’s world, and then in turn shine a light down the path which returns mankind to sanity. The author and reader(s) must first come to possess a clear understanding of what constitutes sanity and what constitutes insanity. To discern between the two we must all refer to the only proven and impartial judge that humanity has ever known . . . objective reality: those articles in life which can be demonstrably shown to be true and real. In our case consider it the application of the scientific method to social phenomenon. Objective reality is the most astute judge in these matters precisely because of its impartial nature. The author desires not to appear trite, but objective reality is what it is: a true state of affairs completely devoid of any consideration of human desires and passions. Black is black and white is white; regardless of whether or not any of us like it. A deprivation of oxygen in the human body will lead to death; fire will burn; extreme cold will freeze, etc. These are simple realities which no sensible human being can deny.
From this we can then clarify that sanity is the process of recognizing objective reality and conforming one’s behavior to that which is healthy and productive. Conversely, insanity is the process of repudiating and denying objective reality. How then does the unstable and disconcerting influence of insanity so easily inject itself into the world and; rather than providing the stability and consolation of sanity; instead cause so much confusion and doubt? This author will refer to this degenerative process as the “lawyering” of reality. To understand this process the author will demonstrate, and hopefully make clearly understandable, the reality of today’s insanity and the pernicious products which have followed as a result.
