Suddenly, from out of nowhere, a big bat swooped towards them. “Fly as fast as you can,” yelled Mosquit- for he knew that bats like to eat mosquitoes. Off they flew with the bat right behind them. “Mmm…you mosquitoes will make me a very yummy midnight snack,” the bat screeched. “Oh, I wish that I had obeyed my parents,” Mosquit thought as he tried to keep out of the bat’s reach. Then, up ahead, the mosquitoes saw a small space in the wall of an old factory that they could squeeze inside for safety.

MarJanita LaRosa is a twenty-one year old Mennonite girl from Lancaster, Pennsylvania. She enjoys writing, reading, spending time with her two dogs, going on mission trips, and playing piano. She wrote Mosquit: The Very Disobedient Mosquito while on a short missons trip to Grenada. The story was written for a school-morning chapel service, and the children loved it. She has taken writing classes at both Christian Light Publications and Sharon Mennonite Bible Institute, and loves to use imagination and whimsy to captivate her readers. MarJanita hopes to write a continued series on the little mosquito, Mosquit.
