Emma started to cry uncontrollably “I cannot do this, I will never learn.” A gentle hand picked her up. “O Emma” she knew his voice, it was her dad. She pushed him a way in anger and shouted “how could you do this to me, how could you leave me alone to walk through that terrible place each morning, with so much dangers along the way…you do not love me daddy” she screamed in frustration.
He took her in his arms and with tears in his eyes he embraced her. “Oh Emma, I would never leave you, there is not one morning that you walked that path alone, I am always there. You see Emma I get up early each morning and prepare the path for you, filling every hole so that stumbling will not hurt you much, padding every tree and post and removing all really dangerous obstacles out the way. Then when I let you go, I walk right beside you, making sure you got through safely. Every morning I stop the traffic for you to cross the street and walk with you to the other side. I’m so sorry Emma but I have to allow you to walk the path or you’ll never be able to manage on your own.” “Oh daddy” She embraced him “I love you so much”
The next morning Emma was on the path again. This time she went through with ease. She knew exactly where the obstacles were and was no longer bothered, except by a few minor ones. As the traffic came to a stop she crossed the road and remembering to count her steps made it safely to the other sidewalk. Her dad hugged her, “Oh Emma, I am so proud of you, how did you get through so easily this morning” “Because daddy” she replied “I know you were with me, I was not afraid anymore”
God is always with you. You need not be afraid. No matter how big the obstacles, there is always a way around them. God may allow you to walk that path, the one that you would rather not go but He has already prepared the way and he will not leave you not even for a second.
