The photo of Wiser-Mouse on our front cover, the story surrounding him, and how a mouse became a wise contributor to these writings – overcame the author to a point where he was almost tempted to start this treatise with: “Once upon a time a little mouse told me….!”
In reality, “Mousey” came into being through a happenstance adventure wherein I discovered some lost writings in an old cottage on the edge of Exmoor forest. Through the years I always referred to them as the Lost Notebooks of “Wiser-Mouse”.
The Wiser-Mouse Legacy originated from the promptings of the Holy Spirit in response to the author’s questions raised at a Christian weekend retreat. As the writing project was launched I was inspired to intersperse this volume with the full series of the “Wiser-Mouse” quotes I had rescued. Our early text briefly explores the friendship of a lonely shepherd and his wild mouse!
At the Christian weekend retreat – no satisfactory answers were forthcoming to the primary question with which I confronted fellow Christians:
“If the Christian teaching and practise in our churches is so right – what makes Christians of today, so ineffective, so impotent, and so utterly powerless – in the face of all the spiritual principles that Jesus taught?”
(1)
The Wiser-Mouse Legacy examines the reality and effectiveness of “religion”, and simply offers the alternative of adhering to the spiritual truth of the Scriptures.
“The practise of authentic Christianity is that of Man consciously applying the spiritual principles that Christ taught. It is grace-gifted empowerment that unleashes the authority and power of God.” (From the Lost Notebooks of Wiser-Mouse).
We are introduced to authentic Christianity which sharply contrasts with pseudo-Christianity, wherein scriptural truths are often negated by the mixing of truth with error. False doctrines relegate Jesus’ Word by default to eternal hope and wishful thinking. That which Man has sown is precisely the harvest he is reaping. The “fruits” of church practise are brought into question.
Numerous Christians speak of hope, belief, faith, forgiveness, prayer, grace, doctrine, obedience, tithing, spirit and soul – without any in-depth comprehension. Many do not know how to pray effectively. They were never taught by church elders or their pastors. The Legacy sheds light. It brings life to Christianity! It brings Christianity to life!
Authentic Christians walk by faith and not by sight, and are not spiritually controlled by man or church. They know that death and life are in the power of the tongue, and are active ambassadors for the kingdom. Their lives are governed by the promptings of the Holy Spirit. In prayer –authentic Christians always pray to the Father, in the Name of Jesus. (2)
“Man’s failure to abdicate his ‘throne of self’ – negates his spiritual power to ‘bring things into being that were not’.” (From the Lost Notebooks of Wiser-Mouse).
The Legacy views in “frame by frame” analysis the process of prayer that effect ‘miracles’ in accordance with the will of God. It honours the role of man as co-creator with God – for which man was originally designed.
The Wiser-Mouse Legacy also examines interpretations relating to the “stopping of time”, neuroplasticity, the power of “Bose-Einstein Condensates” and “pivotal-shifts” in consciousness. They are explored within the context of authentic Christianity.
This little volume was primarily written on expeditions deep within grizzly bear country. Steven, my wilderness companion is a highly accomplished “comfort-master”. His talents include being an expert rifleman, and to top things off – Steven’s “Bambi stew” or roasted rabbits and hot muffins along with “spiked” coffee have the magical aroma of survival! Total isolation from man’s world and reliance on the Holy Spirit provides the piece de resistance for spiritual growth! We delight! We commit! We trust!
