The Whole Ship Romans 8:28 KJV 28And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. Everything that happens in our life works to our good when we love God. That trial you face today is nothing more than a step of preparation. Your heart draws closer to God through your faith. Your mind is renewed through the spirit. Your strength is perfected with a humbled weakness, and your obedience purifies your soul. No matter what you face today – just love God. He is faithful. He will never leave you or forsake you. He already loves you more than you will ever deserve. Don’t you want to start showing Him your love? Take a look at the Gospel Ship. I want you to walk through a short exercise with me. On the picture I’d like for you to cover the rudder of the vessel. You should still see the helm, the sail, and the hull. Now imagine yourself out on the ocean. With that rudder removed how well can you maneuver the ship? What will your course be? The vessel will go wherever the wind blows. You can turn on the helm till you are blue in the face, but it will not change your course. The rudder is essential. Remove your finger from the rudder and place it on the sail. Do the same visual exercise. How well can you maneuver the ship? What will your course be? Without a sail you have no power. It would take an eternity to cross the ocean. Continue this by removing any one of the four elements of the gospel ship. Now ask yourself if you love God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength. If you don’t love Him with all you have – you are just like that ship when fundamental parts are missing. You are blown with wind, sitting idle or sinking. It takes all four elements.

Juan Felipe is a pastor, author, teacher, and speaker of the Word. His message comes from years of ministry experience in churches here in the States and abroad. He has broken through denominational barriers with a passion for the Scriptures and by seeking God’s perfect will for his life.
