My grandmother was failing physically. She had moved in with my parents. My brothers Jerry and Harold a stove vent in the attic when Grandma's pastor showed up. Jerry convinved Harold that he should go to a certain section in the attice because he was smaller and would be careful to walk on the ceiling joist. Jerry began his walk. Guess what happened? Jerry fell through the ceiling into the pastor's lap just as the pastor was praying for a blessing from heaven for my grandma. Grandma could hardly hold back from laughing until the pastor left. The prayer was answered. Laughter can be good medicine. Turn with me to Mark 2:1-12.

Jesus has made a difference in the life of many people. He has entered into many homes before he was born, during his earthly ministry, and since His ascension. He has a habit of turning everything upside down or right. In some homes He brings peace, hope, joy, and love. In other homes He brings chaos, anger, hatred, and bitterness. In some homes He brings both.
Here are some of the stories retold with a connection to the author’s own life. They will leave you asking the question, “What difference am I making in the lives of people today?”
About the Author
Carl E. Gearhart was born in East Chicago, Indiana, in 1952. He married Kathy Hargis in 1977 in Gary, Indiana. They have three children and six grandchildren. Carl is a minister with the Reformed Church in America. Carl and Kathy have served churches in Lennox, South Dakota; Aplington, Iowa; Apache, Oklahoma; Dumont, Iowa; and Woodstock, Minnesota.
While in Oklahoma, Carl and Kathy were missionaries of the Reformed Church in America serving a multi-nation church comprised of people from the Fort Sill Apaches, Lakota Sioux, Cherokee, Comanche, Apache, Shoshone, Yakima, Creek, Mescalero Apache, Kiowa and Anglos.
Carl and Kathy are presently serving the American Reformed Church of Woodstock, Minnesota, where Carl volunteers to help out at the New Life Treatment Center, a Christian-based drug and alcohol rehabilitation center.
This is Carl’s first book.
