I discovered through my research on this book that being a "Burden Bearer" and/or a Prayer Warrior are two closely related ministries. Most people would put these together and say they are one and the same. I beg to differ! Yes, both include praying and seeking God for direction, but here is where I believe they are differnt. A 'Burden Bearer' shares the burden of another in the sense that they support a person through trying times or agree with a person for a specific need. This is done by encouraging words or actions, but most importantly standing in the gap with that person by lifting those burdens or sought answers and direct those to the Lord in Prayer. Well, isn't what a "Prayer Warrior" does? Not exactly! A Prayer Warrior will stand and agree with a person in prayer, but the difference is they will take what God has given and equipped them with through His word and direct them at satan himself! Tearing down strongholds, bondages through the use of the mightiest weapon of all time! God's infallible Word! About the Author
Carolyn Alcina has a deep desire to see people from all walks of life bear each other’s burdens. She has been a Christ follower for twenty-six years and has attended Crossroads Church for twenty-one years, where she enjoys teaching on intercessory prayer and ministering to the deaf through interpreting. The past twenty-six years she has worked in the public school system, sixteen of those years as a Certified Educational Interpreter.
She loves living in the heart of Cajun country where she enjoys gardening, reading, writing and spending time with her husband, Johnny of six years. She has been blessed with two sons, four stepchildren and four step-grandchildren.
