This is not, in any way, to discount the awesomeness of communication with the Father in the form of signs. Rather, I have recanted these examples to demonstrate a principle. The principle is that I recognized God had spoken to me. As overt as these instances are, they are none the less God speaking. Similarly, these overt methods of communication are indicative of the infancy of my relationship to the Lord at the time. Through twenty-five years of reflecting on these two instances I have discovered that the content of what God chose to share with me pales in comparison to the fact I recognized it. Communication with the Lord depends largely on this ability to recognize when God speaks. I am reminded of a revelation from God concerning poor communication. This revelation is that poor communication is not a factor of the communicator’s ability, but rather determined by the listener’s ability to perceive. For example, as an American, if I chose to visit France and consequently became forced to communicate with Frenchmen, communication would be poor. Even if I were speaking to a Nobel Prize winning French author it would remain poor because I do not understand French. As we grow in our faith, God requires the communication level to grow as well.

About the Author
Jeffrey M. Yuna was called to ministry at fifteen, but ran from that call for fifteen years. At thirty, life circumstances led him to ministry school, where he became a licensed minister. From there he has served in every capacity of volunteer ministry, including acting as an usher, a drummer, a youth minister, and more. He served on the board of the FCA in Houston and for DC Ministries. He has preached in four different countries.
Ministries. He has preached in 4 different countries. Beyond that Jeff has seen the lame walk, the blind see, the sick healed, and the dead raised. God has been so patient and loving to him over the years to allow Jeff to witness such things in my own timing but things have changed. Jeff is compelled to preach to the masses, and as much pray for them as well. He is 45 years old. Jeff has no desire to pastor a church, or God for that matter. But it is clear that God is calling Him to do this.
