God, You are my Creator,… my Father,… my King,… my Designer,… my Provider,… my Author,… and my Artist.
God, my Lord. You are awesome and powerful in all the earth! When I ________________(name) look at the heavens, the sun, stars, moon, rainbows, and clouds, I praise you. You have created all the trees, flowers, fish of the sea, birds of the sky, and animals of the fields, and have given them to me. I am your child. You think and care for me and crown me to rule over your creation, the work of your hands. You are awesome in the entire universe!
PRAYER
Thank you, God for the work of your hands in all created things. I thank you for the earth, wind, water, health, trees, animals, family, friends, and everything you have given me. Guide me to use them according to your plan. I __________________(name) thank and praise You!

About the Book
Understanding Psalms for Children originated from the desire to help younger generations comprehend the intense, unconditional, and unfailing love God has for each one of us. Acknowledging the wonders God has done in our lives from an early age will help children nurture their trust, hope, joy, faith, and love in our awesome God!
The purpose of paraphrasing the Psalms and writing them in simple terms was not to detract children from reading the original versions but to encourage their assimilation through their comprehension. Activities are included to reinforce the absorption of the psalms. These psalms are recommended to be meditated upon daily, even if the activities have been completed. The intent on this book is to strengthen children’s relationship with their most loving God through praise, thanksgiving, and trust.
About the Author
Nicole Phelps was born in San Antonio, Texas, and when she was eight years old moved to Houston, TX. She enjoys ballet, piano, theater, Girl Scouts, and traveling. She loves to praise God. Last year, she won first place in a PSIA Texas State Storytelling Contest.
Rosalina Ruiz, Ed.D. is a licensed professional counselor in The Woodlands, TX. She obtained her doctoral degree at the University of Texas—Pan American with her dissertation titled “Spiritual Dimension in Educational Leadership.” She is a former principal, assistant principal, and teacher. Through all her professional career, her emphasis has been to instill spiritual growth to the people she serves.
