REGRET
It is often said that there is no such thing as ‘a life withoutany regrets’. However, regrets can become a burden that interferes with your present joy and restricts your future, or motivation to move forward. ‘If only’. Those must be the two saddest words in the World. Do you just sit and think back a lot on your past? Maybe you have so many regrets. You wish you could put things right. You regret how your life has been.
Many of us crucify ourselves between two thieves- Regret for the past; fear of the future. The most important thing is what you do with your regrets. Do you throw a pity party or learn the lesson, pick yourself up and get a move on? Don’t spend time mourning the past, because while you are doing that, opportunities in the present will elude you!
It Is Written:
- I know that God causes everything to work together for my good because I love Him and I am called according to his purpose for me (Romans 8:28).
- I do not consider that I have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus (Philippians 3:13-14).
- For though I fall seven times, I rise again (Proverbs 24:16).

KELECHUKWU O. OKAFOR is a practicing barrister and solicitor in a commercial law firm in Nigeria. He is a graduate of law from Brunel University in the United Kingdom and has a master’s degree in international commercial law from Kings College, University of London.
