No storm can overcome me when my soul resides in Christ. The winds cannot push me. The rains cannot dampen me. I live in his sweet calm. Starting today, let us make ourselves stronger, brighter, wiser, healthier. Let us do the work to reach the goal. Starting today. Life is about overcoming adversities and creating opportunities. God graces us with comfort to overcome and courage to create. Let us always be mindful of the effects of our thoughts on the realities of our life. What we think will manifest; what we don’t think will not manifest. Be disciplined about your thoughts. Be mindful of your steps. Be thoughtful of your intentions. All together, they are your reality. A peaceful promise I give to you. God graces us in each moment. It is ours to accept if we just surrender. Father, take from me my aimless attempts at self-reliance. They continue to lead me back to the same place – lost and lonely. In you, I know I can have true contentment.

About the Author
Paula M. Salonen Paquette resides in Florida and is a principal of Community Homes & Hearts, Inc., which provides services to adults with developmental disabilities.
Paula is a graduate of Applewild School in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, and St. Paul’s School in Concord, New Hampshire. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Tufts University, a master of theological studies degree from Harvard Divinity School, and a master of public administration degree from the University of New Hampshire.
