"This book is not about social justice, or Jesus as an economic Savior of the world. Jesus spoke of and lived an individual life of -agapeo-, which is -self-giving love-in action. He didn’t lead a physical overthrow of or an uprising against the political and religious structure of his day. Jesus didn’t take his message to the political or religious institutions and leaders of his day. Rather, he went to everyday, ordinary people with his message of -agape- and his life of -agapeo-. He showed us through how he lived the way that we should live. This is of each individual man and woman living a life of -self-giving love- toward others. This means each and every born-again believer, sharing -agape- with someone else, allowing God’s true design for the world to be accomplished. Thus, we as individuals would honor our God with the selfless devotion that he is due. Then, we are to share this honoring of God in our dealings with every person with whom we come into contact with in our life God’s people living the life Jesus modeled would provide social and economic justice in the world. However, it would not occur through governments, political structures, or religious denominations and institutions. Rather, it would be through individual people, one person at a time. This is the -agape- that Jesus spoke of and is the -agapeo- through which he lived his life. I encourage you to join me in this book, and learn a new way to view the living of your life as a Christian. There is nothing new about this message. It is what Jesus was preaching and living from the beginning of his life on earth, until the day he ascended into Heaven. It is a life of agape- or -self-giving love-. True love [agape] will deal honestly with care and not haughtiness in sharing with someone the error of their way. True -self-giving love- will let someone know, with gentleness and humility, that sin is not good or right for their life. To let someone continue in sin under the guise of love is anything and everything but true love [agape]. Likewise, to stand with pride, haughtiness or rejoicing over someone else’s sin is anything and everything but love [agape]. True -agape- is to put yourself in someone else’s place, to get down on their level, and to walk with them and support them in whatever way is needed. When Christians, churches, and religious institutions begin to live out -agape- in this way, then we will see the world turning to the -TRUTH- that is Jesus Christ. The question remains for many, “How do I come to this place in my life?” The answer is that we must begin to apply Matthew 22:37-40 to every passage of scripture that we read. We must live our life in the model of Jesus as described in Philippians 2:1-15. When we are commanded in other scripture to do this or that, we must do so with Matthew 22:37-40 being the basis, the context, through which we carry out that command. In everything that we do as Christians, this scripture must be the foundation upon which we respond to all things in our life, including other scripture. Similarly, a life lived in the Jesus model of Philippians 2:1-15 is a witness that will transform even the most hardened heart."

We hear it said and preached constantly to live like Jesus, to be like Jesus. We are challenged to live for Jesus and not be conformed to the ways of the world. Unlike many other books on love, RETURN TO JESUS sets forth a scripture foundation and basis for following Jesus in living a life of -agape- or -self-giving- love-. It also chronicles the author's journey to this realization of truth that was there in scripture all along. The reader will come to see that love is not just a word to be bandied about, but is -agape-. This is the -self-giving love- which Jesus not only lived and taught, but is the basis for all God's laws and messages from scripture. There will be renewed vision as you begin to understand the purpose that our Heavenly Father desired for your life from the beginning. Thus, you will become a more effective witness for Jesus as you learn to live your life as he did. RETURN TO JESUS will teach you the fullness of the -agape- message and will forever change your view of what it means to be a Christian. For some, it will be an affirmation of something that has been stirring in their Spirit, which they have not been able to fully understand or put into words. For others, it will be a completely different understanding of walking daily in Christ. For everyone who receives and begins to live out this message, their life in Christ will never be the same. About the Author
Pastor Curt is a teaching pastor with Fellowship of the Harvest, a non-denominational ministry in Oak Ridge Tennessee. A native of Brevard North Carolina, he spent his childhood and teenage years in a local Southern Baptist church. Having been called to the ministry at an early age, Curt has ministered in some capacity in several denominations and non-denominational ministries since graduating High School. Ordained as a Baptist minister he attended Campbell University in Buies Creek, North Carolina and Southern Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. He has served as a church planter with the North American Mission Board in Lincoln, Montana. He has ministered to migrants on the Delmarva Peninsula, as a youth pastor to churches in Kentucky, North Carolina and Tennessee, and served as pastor and associate pastor in Montana, Kentucky and North Carolina. He is also a member of the Yahoo Contributors Network. He is the father of three exceptional children of God and grandfather to three of the most beautiful gifts our Heavenly Father could bless a man with. He is blessed beyond measure to have been married to his wife Debbie for twenty-seven years. Curt is available to share the vision of -self-giving love- in any venue or event.
