Sherry Street has been a K-12 teacher, librarian, and administrator in private and public schools. Her love of young people and teaching ranks second to her love of writing. As an English teacher and administrator for thirty years, Mrs. Street gleans from her experiences to create stories for children and young people. She has written several poems published in poetry society books and has written an inspirational romantic mystery for young people, Deceit, Death, Deliverance. Mrs. Street's current project, Winds Whisper His Name, is a historical fiction taking Grace Anne McLoughlin, age fifteen, from her 1850s Natchez, Mississippi plantation home to the wilderness of Moreno Valley in New Mexico Territory, searching for her roots.
Mrs. Street and her husband share their time between Alamogordo, New Mexico and Eagle Nest, New Mexico. While Mrs. Street's primary time is spent writing, she shares time fishing with her husband, making music with piano and violin, getting lost in oil painting, embroidery and crochet and visiting with her children and grandchildren.
