So many of us have tried Christianity and given up or turned back to the world out of frustration. We strive to be perfect or believe that we must clean ourselves up or “get ourselves together” as some say, before we can come to God. Everything that needed to be done on our behalf has been done by one Jesus Christ of Nazareth on the cross and in His resurrection. His work is complete. He left nothing undone and He said, “It is finished” John 19:30.
We have taken salvation and victory over sin and death and made a mockery of it. God’s gift of grace and love, the greatest gift ever afforded mankind, was very straightforward and simple. Jesus bridged the gap between man and our Creator by His sinless sacrifice and His blood shed on behalf of our redemption. It was a powerful act and demonstration of love by the God who created us and desired fellowship and relationship with us.
Sin separated us from our just and righteous God and he knew he had to make a way for us so we could once again enter His presence and commune with him. Under the Law in the Old Testament the sacrifice of the blood of a spotless lamb had to be shed to purchase atonement for their sins. Man had laws to live by and they were to be followed to the letter. In our own fleshly strength and sheer willpower the Lord knew we were incapable of following the law perfectly.

She is the founder and president of a ministry called House of Hope for Women in Birmingham, Alabama.
