Understanding God’s Divine Healing

I believe there’s something within everyone that longs for a miracle, in fact most people believe that God heals today but they have never experienced healing themselves, and I’m sure we have seen or heard of people that were healed, but occasionally there will be someone who will question whether healing is God’s will for them. Please understand these doubts are not from God because it is always His will for you or anyone to be healed. What they have done is, instead of searching God’s Word for His truth, they have allowed themselves to believe a lie because one of the largest obstacles that prevent or block God’s truth about healing is all the modern doctrines and theology we have today (it was the same in Jesus’ day). It confuses and hinders many people from knowing what the Bible clearly teaches. God is the God of miracles and He’s the same today as He was yesterday and He does not want you or any of His children to suffer with sickness or disease. In fact, it is His will for you to live your entire life without sickness. Why? Because disease and sickness destroys the very body that has been bought with a price.

I want you to understand the Bible clearly teaches in both the Old and New Testament that if you are sick God wants to heal you, but until you are 100% convinced that it’s His will for you to be healed then there will always be doubts as to whether or not you will be healed. So you see, the problem is not with God, it’s us, and as long as you have those doubts it will be impossible for you to have sufficient faith to be healed. But on the other hand, when you are totally convinced that it is God’s will for you to be healed, that’s what opens the door for you to receive God’s healing. It’s knowing God’s will concerning sickness that prepares the ground so that faith can act. Everything God has given us comes through Jesus Christ and it is freely given to whoever will – whoever will meet the conditions and believe by faith God’s Word and His promises. No one is left out because God is not a respecter of persons and although His promises are for everyone, your faith will never operate beyond your knowledge of God and His Word. Therefore faith is simply taking God at His Word, which is His will and acting on it. Please understand this has nothing to do with the fraudulent and deceptive “name it and claim it” which was popular at one time. Most people refused it because it reduces our relationship with God to a procedure or formula. Divine Healing is a Bible fact, based on faith just as Salvation is received by faith and they were both given to us through the Atonement, in fact they’re inseparable because He accomplished both on the Cross. Another thing, healing is not “mind over matter or thinking good thoughts” or any of today’s new-age beliefs but it is God’s promise to you, based on what Jesus has already provided for us through His Atonement.

Psalm 90:10 tells us that “the days of our lives are seventy years and if by reason of strength they are eighty years.” This means that our lives should be complete, satisfying and long enough for the work He has called us to do, and that work is outlined in the great Commission of Mark 16:14-18. And we are to do this work, His calling, without suffering any form of sickness or disease. To consider the body gives birth to fear and doubt but when we cling to the promises of God and do the things He calls us to do, it opens the door to faith and Divine Healing which glorifies God.

I have clearly seen that the Church possesses in Jesus an inestimable treasure which the majority have not yet known how to appropriate. I am also convinced that if we would start walking in the truth which God’s Word teaches, it will not only change our lives but will bring us into a realm of faith that we have never considered. We will see revival on a scale never before experienced since Acts chapter 2 when Peter and the others walked out of the upper room on the Day of Pentecost and 3000 were added to The Church. We will start to do the things Jesus did, and even greater things because He is with the Father (John 14:12-14).

God hates sickness and He does not want anyone to suffer. Jesus paid the price so that our spirit, soul and body may not suffer from sin, sickness or disease. We are to serve Him completely and allow Him to be glorified in and through us. Put aside your doubts, fears and unbelief and know the things He has for you. We can never get to a new place until we first come out of the old one and we should never be satisfied to stay where we are spiritually because if we are obedient to God’s Truth, He continues to enlighten us. We must lovingly read and study God’s Word because not only does it mature us but it produces faith within because “faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God” (Romans 10:17). And Proverbs 4:20, 21 tell us, “My son, give attention to my words, incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of your heart; for they are life to those who find them and health to all their flesh.” This is what will produce faith and healing to all your flesh.
