About the Book

For the Christian woman the journey of womanhood and of moving from little girl to wonderful woman occurs while living in a world that is not her home and within a culture that does not reflect the norms and values of Christian teaching. Each of us must determine which of the cultural messages about what it means to be a woman we will pick up and carry with us and which we will leave behind, while carefully balancing living here in this present culture and reflecting the norms and values of permanent and eternal home.

What's a girl to do? How do we choose which cultural messages to accept and which to leave behind? And how do we eliminate all the excess baggage of the lies and half-truths that weigh us down? Where did we pick up all this stuff in the first place?

Come along with author Cinthia W. Pratt as we navigate through this culture in which we live; discover life-changing truths to set us free from the excess baggage of lies and half-truths and dare to be come Fearfully Female and Wonderfully Woman, as God designed and intended.

About the Author

As a former university faculty member, inspirational speaker, lay-counselor to many women and the mother of three girls , it concerns Cindee that most women cannot declare with full assurance that they are “fearfully and wonderfully made" (Psalm 139:14). She believes that this is due in part to our enemy who has whispered in their ears and hand-fed women the foundations for their destructive self-talk. The end result is women acting in desperation and despair, settling for secondary status, and having no knowledge of how fabulously wonderful they are created to be. Despite all our talk of " having come a long way" , Cindee sees too many of her sisters stranded on the side of the road with two flat tires and a slipped bicycle chain. She says it's time for that to change! After over thirteen successful and award winning years as a university faculty member, Cindee felt called by the Lord to take her knowledge and skillset as a sociologist and marriage and family instructor out of the secular classroom and into the heart of God's people. Her desire is to work alongside pastors, lay-leaders, community organizations and churches to replace the half-truths and misconceptions about what it means to be a woman presently being circulated within our popular culture with the hope and truth found only in God’s word.

Cindee is the wife of a retired military officer (Navy E.O.D.) whose career has taken them around the world. She currently resides in North Carolina but continues to enjoy traveling as an inspirational speaker.
