October 8, 2010, Fall is approaching and its exceptionally warm in my jacket as it reflects the moon and chilled wind. I meet Doug as I am throwing some unneeded papers in the trash at the Vista Transit Center. His aged, multicolored hair is hid under his ball cap that matches his green jacket and “high water” jeans. “Hello,” I greet him as I attempt to focus on him, verses the weathered suitcase and clear trash bag of bottles and cans that circle him. He leans on the wall with his book, “Hey,” he responds and immediately I am reminded of my duty. “Have you ever read the bible?” Looking up, he smiles a yellow glow of joy, “Yep!” So I nod, “Ever accepted Christ?” He nods, “Yep!” Taking my hands out of my pockets and leaning on the railing, I tilt my head to offer “When is the last time you prayed?” “This morning.” Well now I am interested and ready to share me Jesus! “How was you day?” With the book now closed and to his side he shares, “It was good.” Wanting more detail i ask, “What made it good?” Lifting his eyes and book to the sky he exhaled, “I got a job!” Doug is not a homeless man but he has been through some difficult times and many let downs. With nothing left to give he went to God in prayer for what he needed and then went searching for what was already his. There is a “Doug” in all of us, hard times have come and we just need a break in life. Follow scripture and let not your faith be in vain but let it live through your actions. Go get what you have been praying/hoping for.

About the Author
Terrence J. White is a young man who’s passion is to enlighten others about The Kingdom of God and in turn traini them to do the same. Raised in Memphis, TN, he rests his head in Southern California. Currently a student at Grand Canyon University, he is seeking a Bachelor of Liberal Arts in Christian Studies. His House International Covenant Church is his home where he drums, teaches the youth and mentors Christian brothers and sisters. He says this about My Joy In The Morning: “We have a mission to make disciples of Gods Kingdom, by building the body of Christ through motivation and knowledge. Our Vision is to reach out to those who have accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. We instruct, teach, educate, enlighten and through the iron of the Sword (Word of God). Through daily worldwide interaction, we reach those who have yet to accept Christ, teaching them the Gospel and making them fishers of men. The Strategy we have, is to place ourselves in environments, make information available and reach out to the body of Christ world wide daily.” Terrence truly has a passion about knowledge and encourages everyone to do 4 things daily: 1) Open everyday in prayer 2) Find one scripture that relates to your goal or emotions 3) Keep a calendar to track and schedule life progress and 4) Jot down feelings, emotions, prayers and ideas in a journal to express what God has on your heart. A man after Gods own heart Terrence would like to leave everyone with one scripture he is passionate about: Though your beginning was small, Yet your latter end would increase abundantly. Job 8:7
