Rebuilding America's Crumbling Spritural Foundation

CHAPTER 2 THE FOUNDATION I KNOW I would like to start this chapter with the word of God. Paul said that we are fellow citizens of the household of God; and are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Jesus Christ himself being the chief cornerstone; in whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord (Eph. 2:19-21). What he meant is that there is no foundation built except that which is built upon by the prophets and the apostles, with Jesus Christ himself as the cornerstone. The prophets represent the foundation of the beginning days, and the apostles stand for the foundations built in this church age, with Jesus Christ being the cornerstone for both the old and the new. The word of God therefore is the strength of every foundation built under this sun. Every kingdom therefore which stands on its own without the direction of the word of God is a weak foundation. Foundations must first be spiritual before they become physical. The Bible says that the things which are seen were all taken out of things which were not seen. Foundations of buildings, marriages, careers, and even nations are all started from the spiritual realm before they become physical. The future therefore of every foundation depends on the words on which they are built; it could either be on the faithful word of God or on the evil intentions of the builder.
