About the Author

WEB ONLY:

God gives everyone an individual talent, and mine seems to be the ability to express my thoughts and feelings in the form of rhyme and rhythm. I have always been fascinated by the way words fit together to relay certain ideas or stories in the form of poetry. To me it is no accident that our language has just the right words that rhyme, just as nothing else created by our Maker was accidental. He had a plan all along---even for our use of language.

For the past eight years God has been inspiring me to write these poems. When the idea came to me that I should have them bound into a book, I wondered how I would ever know when the book was complete. A book of poetry is obviously not like a novel with a beginning and an ending. When God sent me the words to the poem "I'd Like to Believe," I could see in my mind that the covers of the book were closing. Since that time I have felt that it was done to His satisfaction. Some of you may not understand what I am saying here, but many of you will because you have that same kind of relationship with God. I do earnestly believe in a "relationship" and not just a "religion."

I grew up in a very small town called Archibald, Louisiana. I was very fortunate to have been reared by Christian parents who made certain that I grew up knowing our Lord. After I married I moved to my husband's hometown of Oak Grove, Louisiana. We have lived there over forty years. We have two children and five grandchildren. At the present time we travel a great deal as we follow my husband's job from one location to another. This experience has allowed me to meet many new Christians and to explore many new places. It has also brought me more inspiration for some of the poetry in this book.

My prayer is that you who read this book will receive some portion of the blessings that I have received from writing it. God has exposed me to many truths about myself, and some of them were not pleasant; however, I am grateful for the lessons I have learned. "May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer."---Psalm 19:14.
