So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous hand. Isaiah 41:10 I know sometimes it is hard to get hold of the idea that God is with us. Sometimes when life seems so mundane or when things aren’t going well, we tend to wonder, “Okay, God, where are you? Why am I feeling so down today? Why am I dismayed?” I wonder those things myself many times, but I have found that is when I need to just be still. And by being still, I don’t mean I need to sit, lay or stand motionless, I mean I need to keep doing the best I can at life in general and know God is working out the details. One of the things that always disturbs me is when I have gone through a period of depression or aggravation, and at the end of it—the other side, I like to call it—I realize how much time, sometimes days, I have spent in an unhappy state of mind. I am dismayed! Dismayed at the moments, hours or days I cannot get back. We don’t get a mulligan or do-over in life. When the time or day has passed, it is done. One of these days, I’m going to get to the point where, when every time something comes against me, I can forge onward, telling myself as I go, God is with me, and He will strengthen me and help me out. I’m not there yet, but I’m headed that way! Anybody want to come along?

About the Book
In today’s chaotic and challenging world, we all need encouragement. For the past fifteen years, my wife and I have utilized various daily devotionals for that helpful dose of inspiration to start our day. This book is written from the perspective of a not-so-perfect Christian in a manner that will speak to men and women of all ages and faiths, and provide them a simple encouraging, uplifting bit of insight for each day of the year. I believe this book will allow those who read it to gain a fresh understanding of God, His love for them, and His plan for their life. And as they begin to understand God's love, they will experience the joy and peace He offers to those who love and trust Him. The first 105 devotionals deal with Bible verses from Genesis to Revelations that speak about not being afraid. The second phase deals with verses from Matthew through Revelations that speak of God’s love. And the remaining days of the year are writings on verses from Matthew through Revelations relating to joy and peace. The writing of these encouragements has blessed me beyond measure and brought me closer to the Lord than I ever thought I could be. I pray they do the same for you.
About the Author
I am a born again Christian whose ever increasing love for God and insatiable hunger for His knowledge inspires me to share those things and the love for others God has placed within me with all who care to seek Him. I am recently retired from a career as a construction superintendent and can now devote my time to my first love--writing. I have been writing daily devotionals for two years, and have a list of approximately 150 friends, relatives and new acquaintences that I email them to each morning. I also write poetry, short stories and novels. My wife of 15 years, Sherry, and I currently reside in College Station, Texas. My hobbies include golf and gardening, but as I said, my love is writing and I spend most of my time pounding this keyboard and learning more about God as I go. The most exciting thing He has taught me is that His love is unconditional and He wants me to love Him. I don't know if I will ever be able to adequately return His love, but I am inspired to give it my best effort.
