We all have something from our past that we would like to forget. How often do we think back to a time or place and feel so ashamed of the control we allowed Satan to have in our lives? Did we even realize how powerful the lies of the enemy were in each of us? I pray that as you read this book, you grow closer to the Lord and accept that you are forgiven in Christ. No matter where we’ve been or what we’ve done, we have a Savior waiting for us to call out His name and surrender to Him.
How do you think “past” is defined? I “googled” the word just so I could get a full view of what it means. Are you ready? Because this is going to be a revelation for some of us! The past is pertaining to a former time or state; it is neither present nor future. The past has gone by. It has elapsed. Ended. The past is spent.
WOW! Do we really get that? It’s GONE! We can’t get it back! Praise the Lord! Please, if you don’t get another thing out of this book, understand that our pasts are gone. What we choose to do with our future is up to us. We can either accept forgiveness through Christ, and allow Him to lead us to His plan for our lives, or allow Satan to keep us in the pit of our past.
We can use our past experiences to minister to others who are hurting and think their current situations are hopeless. Our trials are opportunities to serve others in a time of need. When we, as Christians, allow the Holy Spirit to empower us, we have a direct line to Christ to reach out and get a hold of Him. From the east to the west is a lot further than just across town. If we could fathom just how far Christ has removed our sins from us then we would rise up as that new creation Christ wants us to be and believe all things are possible.
Philippians 4:13 tells us that ALL things are possible through Christ who gives us strength. If we believe the word of God is truth, then we must believe we can do anything for God. We just have to be willing.

We as Christians, so often hunger for the things of this world without regard to the cry of our Savior to reach out and touch those in need all around us. The choices we make each day of our lives send a clear message to the multitude as to whom we have chosen to serve. God’s Word says we can only serve one master. Our actions, our behaviors, our words, and every decision we make shows the world and our loved ones who we have chosen as the Lord of our lives.
I challenge you to ask yourself, “Who do I serve?” Have you been obedient to the call God has on your life, or do you choose to ignore that quiet whisper guiding you to His plan of a hope and a future? I urge you to fully surrender your life to Him and choose this day to serve your Savior, Jesus Christ, rather than the world and the enemy of your soul. Who you serve is black or white. There is no gray area.
