Talking Animals
What can we learn from C.S Lewis and other authors like J.R Token? That there is other lands out there. And beings that we haven’t believed in and thought they were myths are perhaps real as real can be. When growing up I did’nt know whether to believe if David and Goliath was a real account even though it was out the bible. I didn’t believe in giants until I read about them in the bible. Maybe I would have believed if I saw one. The difficulty with that is that none exists . Why doesn’t any exist? Because they were of offspring of the falling angels. They were not part of God’s plan for mans new habitation earth. What about the mystical creatures like unicorns? Some unicorns are very distortive. Their body make up is one of a lions tail and chin of a goat,it’s a horse without horse shoes but goat cloven hooves with a slender spiral horn on it’s head. The unicorn would be considered very awkward and peculiar much like the giant race of man. Perhaps it’s extinction is due to the fact they were probably evolved from some kind of misfortune and wasn’t part of man origanl habitation after Adam. They are mentenioed in the bible. And whether you take it as a play on words are not it is very likely that they existed like the giants of old existed.
An animal called the Re’em (Hebrew: רְאֵם‎) is mentioned in several places in the Hebrew Bible, often as a metaphor representing strength. "The allusions to the re'em as a wild, un-tamable animal of great strength and agility, with mighty horn or horns (Job 39:9-12, Ps 22:21, 29:6, Num 23:22, 24:8, Deut 33:17 comp. Ps 92:11
Did the fallen angels infuriate our animals as well as the human race? The bible says in Roman 8 all creation mourns. In the Land of Narnia you have talking animals and talking trees. And right about now you saying I’m crazy, cause you know what I’m about to say. But consider the great mind of C.S Lewis and why would he dedicate his life to such great works. When he interviewed he said that all was a possibility and not merely a fantasy of his. An image or a dream based on reality.
Have you ever ask the question, why was Satan talking in the Garden? Why wasn’t Eve surprised by a talking snake? Perhaps it was as supernatural as the donkey talking to Balaam.(Num22:30, 2 Peter 2:16) Was the donkey taken over by angelic guidance? Perhaps not because the bible clearly said the Lord open up the ass mouth. Peter confirms the ass talking as man, so that none would interpret this passage wrongly. We have a talking snake and a talking ass so far. We would have had talking swines but they were sent violently down a steep place into a lake and were chocked up(Luke8:33). We have to have more dialogue about these supernatural events. The bible says they clearly happened. I was interested about these particular instants in the bible so I started researching. I learned that many atheist use these verses to discredit the bible. Boy, I am glad I was not in the audience looking suspiciously at a young age I would have went with the skeptics. I found several accounts when the bible was seriously debated that the skeptic used these talking animals to discredit the bible. It was very peculiar because most attack the bible with historical rhetoric, or some other rhetoric to disprove Jesus saying. The average preacher had no answer. The atheist proclaimed that if he can disprove a talking snake and a talking donkey he can disprove the bible. I admit; I am not a scientist on the subject, but I do know the nature of God. I know that God allow things to happen so that we are without escuse. He uses science and satan as a fiddle to promote his ultimate plan. He uses everything around us to show who he is, all we must do is comprehend it. Pastor Ralph West a pastor of over 18,000 often quotes that” God can be seen in natural science”. What have we learned from talking animals?
Well we know that parrots talk. The African Grey parrot is one of the most intelligent species along with the whale. It was said that parrots mimic what humans say, but after careful study over the years people who owned parrots say they can communicate very efficiently. Irene Pepperberg who had an African Grey parrot named “Alex” proved that not only do they mimic but they understand concepts of language and can communicate. Alex would distinguish colors count, recognize shapes, and see the similarities between objects. Many times she would notice the parrot expressing feelings, emotions, and thoughts. I was not surprise by the latter because we can see this in about all animals. Most of us have dogs and cats as pets and we see their display of emotions and feelings and thoughts. I don’t believe Alex is the only parrots that display these characters but he is definitely the most studied parrot. And because we observe those characteristics from him then I can conclude in all likely hoods that God has made animal to talk and we can accept the text as it is. Even if we scrutinize that parrots have no vocal cords as human does, it is proven that they have what science calls syrinx and other parts of their body to scientifically explain their speech.
Well some may say that’s just a parrot. One case in particular, isn’t it so obvious that some people want to connect us to monkeys who they say we evolve from. Some people go as far as dressing up their animal because of the communication and knowledge of them. The monkeys who amuse us and is very much intelligent is another reason to believe the possibility of the animal species at one point was able to communicate with men. Some people even make the assumption that monkeys are as smart as us. I doubt that, but this is another game of fact and fiction.
Another study would be dolphins. It is a fact that dolphins use tools to solve problems like monkeys. There have been some performance intelligent test that proves this data. Even right now many researchers are being astonished by dolphin to dolphin and dolphin to man communication.
It doesn’t matter what animal you put in front of you. We just prove that a bird brain is not to dumb after all, neither is a monkey brain. So what’s strange about an animal talking what’s strange about us not understanding what God allowed millions of years ago. We don’t know for sure but we can’t rule it out. Millions, maybe billions of years past us by. The evolution of the earth hasn’t taking a step up perhaps only steps back. Yeh, that’s what sin could do to a world made of love, communication and extraordinary things.
Didn’t Adam name all the animals God brought to him? Was this very peculiar? Whether the contemporary species are species that was from former times. They were indeed made for man and at the time tamed by man.
The story we read or movie we see about the beast master speaking to animals, understanding them and they understanding him is not a story anymore. If you look deeper into the bible story, Adam had the animals around him tamed . He was their beast master.
When we go to the zoo we see tamed lions, tigers, and elephants this is no coincident that man is able to do such a thing. We take our animals to pet school to train them on how to behave in their new environment. We teach them when to sit when to use the bathroom and how to fetch a ball. It is most likely, and I am not trying to make a theology out of this but Adam didn’t have to do those things. They automatically came like that. Maybe God only accounts for half of the curse when we pick up the story in Genesis. Conceivably animals not being able to talk was another part of it. We are not sure. Possibly they were able to talk years before Adam we don’t know how that land was before time. We have bits and pieces. My point is twofold.
