About the Book
During the darkest, most difficult, and most painful days of my life—injured at work, loss of job, inability to do the usual work, crisis at home with an injured and aging mother to support, feeling weak and helpless—God reminded me of King David encouraging himself in the Lord. As I looked back over my life, I saw I had a lot to be thankful for, because God is always faithful, He is and will always be the great I Am, and a help in our troubles. He will remain the stability of our times and life, and with that blessed assurance, we can truly face tomorrow without fear but with trust, walk on in obedience, and prepare the way for His return.
About the Author
Elgonda Brunkhorst was born in South Africa where she completed high school- then attended three colleges to graduate as a registered nurse and midwife- and to receive a diploma in pediatric science. After working for several years- she went to Switzerland where she attended Youth with a Mission's (YWAM) Evangelism and Discipleship training school- then remained on staff for about three years- starting at the S.A. YWAM base before going to Germany. She has traveled extensively- visiting thirty-nine countries- two provinces in Canada- and thirty-two states in the United States. She currently lives in the United States with her elderly mother.
The author grew up memorizing scripture. Her name means "God's Warrior" : El meaning God and Gonda meaning warrior- from the name of Gideon. God is training her to become a spiritual warrior- an intercessor. It has been exciting to listen for that still- small voice- to experience the wonders of His love- and to see the results of her prayers.
