My Cancer Life! Not Death

I would never be able to deal with this decaying body without God’s wonderful peace in my spirit. At the beginning of this horrible episode I contracted a strange infection in my blood stream. I laid in that hospital bed and screamed like a crazy man for three weeks the pain was just that bad. In all of that body malfunction my mind was at perfect peace. I finally achieved total surrender to Christ. With total surrender comes perfect peace.
If a soldier is wounded badly in war and there is no doctor present, he must surrender to survive. The prison camp has doctors, shelter, food and water. Everything he needs, not necessarily what he wants. I would love for God to just take all the hurt away, but since I’m a prisoner of a body with cancer, I’ll settle for eternal peace from God.
The very first attack I suffered was in the mind. This is where satan loves to attack us (Eph. 4:23). First thing he says is “you’re going to die”. But then I recall all the family and friends that haven’t reached my age (without cancer). So he can’t threaten me with that. I’m still here. I don’t see any unfairness on God’s part. I find myself thankful to God. With the Spirit of God you don’t allow yourself to be pushed around by negativity. The key to dealing with a bad body is to have a sound mind.
