About the Book

From a Drunkard to a Pastor is the story about how Jesus Christ can take a lost soul drowning in alcohol and drugs and transform that person into a vessel worthy to be used by God to reach the lost for Christ. This book also describes areas in the Christians life where a Christian needs to work toward completeness in Christ (spiritual maturity).

The author describes in detail the struggles he went through trying to find answers to the question, “how in the world did I get so far from God?” He writes of God’s love for mankind and the extremes God went through to restore mankind to fellowship with him. The author speaks of his depravity in hope that it will convey the message to others that no matter how far you have fallen and no matter how hopeless life may seem that God is able to reach down from heaven and put you on a path to recovery and a new hope.

The common theme throughout this book is the necessity to grow in your walk with Christ, and this is a how-to book to accomplish that based on the author’s own experience. The book gives practices and insights on what helped the author in his quest to be more like Jesus. Christians are called to be like Jesus, and that calling does not come easy. It takes hard work, commitment, love for Christ, and love for our fellow human beings. This book guides you on a path that will help you reach spiritual maturity.

About the Author

Coming from an abusive home, his life became chaotic and out of control. He searched and searched for the thing that was going to fill the gigantic hole in his heart. Deep down he knew alcohol was not the answer for filling the void in a person’s soul. But it numbed the pain for a short while. He now understands that alcohol, drugs, or any destructive habit is just a temporary numbing of the pain; eventually, the pain becomes unbearable and no amount of alcohol, drugs or sinful behavior can make it go away. He now knows that only Christ can fill the emptiness in the human soul and take away the pain of a broken life, “For He satisfies the longing soul, and fills the hungry soul with goodness” (Proverbs 107:9).
