It is paramount to keep one’s eyes and ears open while in a courtship. You have to ensure that your partner shares the same values as yourself. The question ‘Who Am I?’ involves the following:
• How do I view my identity?
• What do I believe in?
• What is my purpose?
• What do I need to fulfil my purpose? Do I need to fulfil it at all?
• What values do I uphold or aspire to uphold?
• What are my fears, hopes, desires, wants?
• Where am I going?
It is very important to know who you are. If I did not understand me, I would have tread some paths that would not have been beneficial to me. I would have just married the first person who came my way. I know who I am, so I am able to make informed decisions about my life because I expect a particular outcome and know what to do to get there.
