Talks from the Other Side. I’m talking as one who has been through grief, and a lifetime of experience. And coming back and sharing it with you. Talk yourself down off the wall. We are all bands of warriors. For we do not stand alone; our weak, our troubled in mind, all are ours. They are not ‘yours.’ “They are Mine.” Treat the wounded warrior with respect. Given to fantasy? Yes, that might be true.
But remember, the ones that they served with are dead and already IN Paradise. In the Garden of Eden. The ones who survive are just looking for them and still searching. They know their friends are alive and on the other side! And those who have gone ahead are not dead, they’re alive. In the clouds. The Bible calls them “The Great Cloud of Witnesses.” A witness talks about what they know; if they’re dead, then they wouldn’t be called witnesses.
And it says: they’re Great, which could have a couple different meanings. One is that we will live again in the clouds that cover the sun. (‘House of Heroes.’ song) The closest you can get to them is to jump up and down; or you might yell at the sky (or the clouds): “I’m on your side!”
I feel like I have been stretched beyond my outer limits. “Already been there, done that; this is beyond even the outer limits. Do we want to be well? Are we willing to do the work inside ourselves that is going to make us well? It’s the difference between life and death itself.
I have everything I need, but I don’t have everything I WANT. Here’s my thought: “can I live without intimacy?” That is the issue here. Am I willing to function – not just survive – if I don’t have intimacy built into my life?
Help me to function today; to get up and do the things that need to be done. I am broken, but You are the Healer. No longer my earthly will, God, but whatever You think/know is best for my life. I lay it all under your feet, knowing that You have my best in mind. (see Jeremiah 29:11).

About the Book
Some of us have been through tough times in our lives; things that give us a perspective on life that is not so uplifting. We have gone through things that have “taken the wind out of our sails.” Maybe it’s that we have endured the separation or death of a loved one, or maybe we have lost someone significant we cared for. It might be that we ourselves have gone through some debilitating circumstance; the losses of health or maybe circumstances have turned against us. Even when these things happen to us, upon us, our lives as seen from an Eternal Triune dimension can take on a completely different set of rules, vision, and contemplation than imagined before.

Elisa Morelli is a trained musician who has been involved in both the Catholic and Protestant communities, as well as Believer and Seeker communities, and worked as a music teacher for 20 years. She is mom to many, and has two grown children.
