One of "Those" Girls (Chapter One, excerpt) I still remember sitting on the floor of my shower, clutching my knees to my chest. I alternated between bowing my head (as though I was trying to hide from God), and leaning my head against the side of the shower (searching the ceiling, as though I was looking for Him). Within minutes, I was crying so hard I lost control of my breathing and started to hyperventilate. It was as if I wanted to exhale as much confusion and pain as possible, with every erratic gasp of air that I gulped in and spewed out. My tears mixed with the water that flowed from the showerhead above. Deep down, I knew the water that washed over me couldn’t really cleanse me, but I sat there anyway, even after the hot water turned cold. Among the thoughts that I wanted the water to drown out was the question I had been asking myself often during the previous weeks: How did I get here? “Here” was an adulterous relationship with a married man.

About the Book
The compelling true account of one woman’s experience as the other woman in an extra-marital affair: As a little girl, Rebecca dreamed of what she would become when she grew up. She didn't dream of becoming an adulteress, but that’s precisely what happened in her early twenties. Words from the Other Woman is Rebecca’s honest and cautionary testimony of how she fell from grace – and then was saved by it.
About the Author
Rebecca Halton wrote Words from the Other Woman out of a deep desire to minister to other women (although men are encouraged to read it too). She hopes sharing her story will help spare others from the pain and destruction that accompanies adultery – and remind them of God’s redemptive grace, love, and healing. Rebecca earned a bachelor’s in English from Messiah College, and has also studied International Policy at the Monterey Institute of International Studies.
