About the Book

This book of poems is about the ups and downs of life, the deep valleys that we find ourselves in sometimes. The high mountains that we must climb, the highs and lows of human experiences, and the ins and outs of bad situations. It is about what humanity goes through daily—the big, beautiful, and wondrous world of nature, all that is in it, and all that it has to offer. Nature’s God and how He uses nature to teach us some very valuable and important lessons. It talks about the sky, the constellations, the galaxies, the sun, the moon, the stars, Orion, and the Milky Way. From the cradle to the grave, we are bombarded with difficulties and trials.

About the Author

Leila Hayes writes from the Bronx, New York. She hails from the beautiful island of Antigua, the island of 365 beaches—one for every day of the year. She received her BS in Business from Audrey Cohen College in New York, her MA in Education from New York University, and her second MA in Instructional Technology from New York Institute of Technology. She has about four credits from the University of Phoenix toward her PhD but had to quit because the university wanted her to go to school on the Sabbath, which is against God’s principles and her religion. She worked in the Postal Service for thirty years and taught English Language Arts at Kennedy High School for seven years. She has five children, four boys and one girl, who are all grown now: Darrell, Lauri, Derrick, Sean, and Kevin (of which two are deceased: Kevin and Derrick). She is a firm believer in Christian principles and that Jesus’ Second Coming is imminent.

Her extraordinary Christian journey started as a child growing up in Bolans, Antigua, situated on the southern portion of the island. Her church, situated on a small hill called Fairview, was where she garnered most of her Christian values and the many principles that would shape and govern her life for years to come.
