A Glimpse of His Glory

Creation Speaks

I can just imagine,
Seeing the great God Almighty!
Taking a peaceful stroll down by the river.

As He passed the lush green foliage,
The velvet grass, the giant stately trees,
The different species of all the animals,
The luscious fruits hanging from the laden vines,
The pregnant melons, cucumbers, squash, and limes,
He declared them “Very good.”

As He viewed the sparkling lakes, clear as crystal,
The glassy sea with its marble sand,
Stretching for miles and miles and more miles,
The picturesque landscape, the meadows, the streams,
And the myriad of beautiful flowers,
The Great I Am stopped momentarily!
And picked a petal from a beautiful rose.
He admired it, examined it, and smelled it.
Then He said, “It is very good.”

As He reached the edge of the river,
He sat Himself down,
And took a lump of untried clay in His hands—
Just enough clay, to make a man—no more no less!
He patted it and twirled it around His hands.
Then He declared, “With this clay, I’ll make me a man.
A man in my own likeness, a man that I can look upon
And say, she or he is very good.”

Then the great Master Sculptor began to form the man.
Out of the dust of the ground, He shaped the head,
Then the brows. He sculpted the eyes, the ears;
And with meticulous care, He fashioned the nose and lips.
Then he gave the man some hair.

He could have just spoken the words, and
Man would come into existence
As He did everything else.
But this created thing was special to Him.

He made the torso, and all the intricate parts—
The breast, the arms, and the feet.
God was having fun with His clay that day.
Spiritually, physically, mentally, and artistically.
His holy Hands began to mix the colors,
That would last for eternity.
