It is not impossible to consider that there were things that sought to tear apart the church. Even before its foundation attacks against it were great and undoubtedly diabolical. Among the many attacks the church sustained were false teachings; many of which were leveled against its founder, Jesus. Despite the attacks in the first century the church flourished to the point that it had impacts not just to the lands of the church’s origin but the world over. This is why detailed studies of Christianity are not only important, but also necessary. Defending against the attacks means getting academic hands dirty. This is the purpose of "Academia," to get down and dirty.

Academia: Through the Eyes of a Preacher contains a number of research papers completed by Elder William James Carter. The works are presented in their raw, unedited form as submitted to Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary so that readers may learn from the writing errors. These essays presented with minor mistakes included should serve not only to aid in the improvement of student writing but the many references mentioned in the work may help guide academic studies.
