Mystic Vision

As Jill was getting closer and closer to the Lord, Jim was becoming more and more distant. The two seemed to always be trying each others’ nerves. Now with this latest hitch in the road namely Travis, Jill was determined to find a way to separate the two men.

“Stella just doesn’t understand that Travis should be home with her and their new baby. She is glad to be rid of him. All he does is cause her strife. The more he’s away the happier she is. Now he is my problem as well as hers. This just isn’t a good relationship for anyone.” Jill explained to Sheila. “We would be better off if he had never come into our lives. Now I am concerned about Stella on top of everything else.”
“Have you sat down with Jim and voiced your concerns?” Sheila wondered.
“No, not really, he can tell I really don’t care for Travis. I’m afraid he will get all defensive on me.” Jill complained.
“Jill the reception is less than a week away. This isn’t good. Things were going so well for you. How did this happen?” Sheila asked.
“I don’t know. I feel like I’m under attack or something.” Jill announced.
“That’s it! You hit the nail on the head.” Sheila exclaimed.
“What are you talking about?” Jill asked.
“When a person gives themselves to Jesus things seem to start happening. First you have good things happen, but then it starts.” Sheila explained.
“What starts?” Jill wondered.
“Satan, that’s what. The enemy doesn’t like the idea of you relying on Jesus so he tries to throw a monkey’s wrench into every area of your life. You are a new Christian and my girl, you are under attack.” Sheila warned.
“That’s crazy talk Sheila.” Jill said with hesitation.
“You are a child of God now and you are under attack, but I will teach you what you need to know to protect yourself from his darts.” Sheila offered.
“What do I do?” Jill sighed not really in the mood to do battle.
“This will take some preparation. I will be in touch. In the mean time recognize it for what it is. It isn’t Jim. You love him. Satan is after your marriage. Don’t let him hit you at the heart of your life. Fight for Jim, we need to save him too. This will take time and energy. Are you willing to fight for your marriage?” Sheila said with determination.
“Wow this is scary stuff.” Jill said with realization.
“You can say that again.” Sheila agreed.
“When it comes to doing battle against Satan I don’t know if I am up for the fight, but I will give it all I can. Please get everything together as soon as you can. I want to get this underway,” Jill directed.
“The first thing you must do is to be in prayer. Prayer is the strongest force on Earth. I will put you on our prayer chain at Church and work. I love you cousin. Talk to you soon.” Sheila promised.

“Keith, hi this is Jill.”
“Jill it is so good to hear from you. I am so looking forward to seeing you and Jim on Saturday. Hawaii seems ages ago.”
“Keith I needed to speak with you ahead of time.” Jill started carefully. “I have become a believer since Jim and I were with you in Hawaii.”
“Jill, praise the Lord that is wonderful, and Jim?” Keith resounded.
“Well that is what I wanted to speak with you about. Jim isn’t there yet, but I keep praying for him. Jim and I seem to be drifting apart because of my new found faith. According to my cousin some of the issues we’re having are direct attacks from Satan because I have accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior. I know this may sound crazy, but I had to speak with you about it. You’re a man of God and maybe you can help.” Jill ventured.
“Your cousin sounds like an intelligent woman. Yes I tend to agree with her.” Keith stated.
“Sheila is well versed in the bible and is trying to get some information together for me. She also told me to pray. So do you agree Jim and I may be under attack from the enemy?” Jill asked.
“When a person gives himself or herself to God the trouble starts. Jesus himself stated in John 16:33 In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world. (NIV)
Jesus is everywhere. So first of all have no fear. Once Jesus is your Savior he gives you super natural support through the Holy Spirit. He will never leave or forsake you. You are under attack because Satan has lost you. Your cousin is right. There are measures to be taken. I agree prayer is the first place to start.” Keith instructed.
“So this stuff is real?” Jill wondered.
“Yes, but like I said have no fear. You have recognized what is happening, that is half of the battle. Now you can start in earnest to travel down the road less traveled, the narrow path that few find. It is well worth the journey.”
