Job 38:33: Do you know the laws of the heavens?
Personal Note: I suspect that many modern scientists and others of a technical bent would answer yes to this question and to many others the Lord asks of Job in this passage. With our modern science and technology, we have seen the very distant and the very small. If we lack an answer, we can just Google it. Our wildlife cameras now can answer yes to the question of 39:1 and we have domesticated the ox of 39:9. But if we are really honest, we have to admit that we have many gaps in our knowledge. Our telescopes cannot penetrate the dark matter between us and other stars. Although we have now seen the entire sphere of the earth, we will probably never see the whole majesty of the Milky Way’s spiral arms. Although we can gather historical evidence of times past, we will never have a video showing what actually happened. And although we can observe the behavior of wildlife, we cannot penetrate the minds of animals. Our knowledge of the physical realms is limited to our senses and instruments. Even we modern humans can learn from Job’s humble response to the Lord’s intervention (40:4).
