About the Book

There are many benefits to New Testament in Poetry. The chapters that cover the life of Jesus are in the first person to give a sense of immediacy. While it is 25 percent of the New Testament length, it retains all parables, sermons, doctrines, travels, prophecies, persons, miracles, and messages. In fact, it could be called the Essential New Testament. It is meant to be a study guide to lead one to read from Matthew to Revelation. Each sonnet (fourteen-line poem) is titled and subtitled to give additional information to the reader and Bible student.

About the Author

Mark Roland earned a Master’s Degree in Education at Stanford University. He taught all grades from second through college, from Maryland to Los Angeles to Hiroshima, Japan. He studied in Florence for six months, in Mexico for seven weeks. He is qualified in Italian, Spanish and French. He taught French in Los Angeles, Spanish and English in San Francisco.

As a student of the Bible, he has read from Genesis to Revelation three times. After hearing hundreds of sermons and attending crusades, he took his knowledge of the Bible and connected it with his poetry. It took two and a half years to complete New Testament in Poetry. Each line had to be examined to make sure that the meaning was true to the original intent.

He lives in the Salinas Valley of California.
