The Vietnam War

The real reason America lost the war in Vietnam is told by the commander of one of the most successful Army infantry companies that fought in Vietnam. As one who led men into battle numerous times, Schmidt testifies to the validity of Proverbs 21:31 which states, "The horse is made ready for the day of battle, but victory rests with the Lord." He makes the case that the Vietnam War was winnable even with all the self-imposed restrictions; however, because of America's moral decay, God denied U.S. senior military leaders the wisdom to employ the correct tactics. Schmidt identifies these flawed tactics, as well as tactics that, if employed during the war, would have led to victory.

Although, God disciplined the nation, God blessed and protected Schmidt's company. He provides evidence to God's grace and power by publishing the company's day by day operations over a six month period that resulted in the company killing or capturing approximately 60 enemy soldiers, while never losing any of their own. Schmidt reveals a highly effective automated battlefield that employed mechanical ambushes in the latter years of the war. Because infantry troops in the field did not want the enemy to know of this tactic during the war, its use was kept from the public. As a result, no other book provides information of one of the most effective tactics used in the Vietnam War.

Schmidt provides the most important lesson from the Vietnam War. It is imperative that all Americans learn this lesson in order to prevent another similar defeat. This lesson applies to all types of conflicts, such as illegal drugs, terrorism, political, economic, etc.
