Swallowing hard and blinking fast she knocked on the door. Just when she was starting to feel anxious the door swung open and there stood the Arborist. She greeted the girl with a smile and kindly welcomed her in. It only took her a moment to remember the face of the admirer of her tree.
Feeling a bit uncomfortable because of all the tree paraphernalia surrounding the home, the girl sat quietly as the Arborist prepared two fresh cups of hot tea. She could hear the quiet ticking of a tree clock mounted above a china cabinet filled with tree ornaments. They were the most beautiful tree replicas she had ever seen. There were beautiful tree shaped candle holders with wide branches and candles resembling bark. She was getting the idea that the Arborist was really into trees. Her eyes settled on the odd yet amazing tree shaped fireplace. Looking into the blazes of the fire, the girl could hear the crackling sound of the wood as it burned and the words of the Evangelist concerning the fruitless tree rushed into her thoughts.

About the Book
Lacey Marie is doodling through another church service when she is stopped by the words of a visiting evangelist who tells the congregation about Jesus’ teaching that compares people to trees. Some appear to have fruit but prove to be unfruitful. Others bear good fruit; some bear bad fruit. Soon Lacey begins to wonder, What kind of tree am I?
Although Lacey usually feels free after leaving a service, she departs feeling as if she has an obligation. As the nagging thought of being likened to a tree leaves her with a deep desire to learn more about them, Lacey embarks on an adventure of spiritual growth as she decides to plant a seed and grow her own tree. But when things do not turn out as she expected, Lacey turns to a spiritual mentor for help. Will she ever succeed in achieving her goal?
Fruitful is a moving story filled with moments of passion, hunger, and humility that ultimately points the way to fulfilling a deeper relationship with Christ.
About the Author
Leslie C. Poston grew up in Minneapolis, Minnesota. After being invited to church by a peer, Leslie decided to follow Christ at age nine. Through high school, she led bible study groups while nurturing her passion for ministering to children and youth. Leslie currently resides in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. This is her first book.
