Making unexpected detours in life is always, well, unexpected. It also delays the process and direction in which God wants to take us, especially when we’re running from God out of fear or stubbornness. However, God is still faithful to his Word in our own mess.

We can all turn back to God because his arms are always open with grace and mercy. Whatever fish we face, whether it is out of our own disobedience or it’s just a storm in life, we are never alone. God will be right there waiting and even guiding us through our storm.

In the midst of our storm, we will often find ourselves giving sweet praise of thankfulness. This does not come easy, but it is necessary if we want to move forward in God’s will. This often comes when we are at a place of humility and a “coming of our own.”

This book will help you see that you are not the only one running from something. We all have a fish to bear, and we all have a belly to confront—ourselves. Like Jonah, it’s possible to have a call on our lives, and in the midst of everyone else’s praise, we can find ourselves running from even the still, small voice of God telling us to do one simple task—love his people back to life.
