Miracles come in the strangest packages! After Sandy and I arrived at our special corner of the farm I dismounted and went to sit in the shade of my favorite oak tree. While Sandy grazed nearby, my mind returned to what I had heard my father say the night before; I couldn't get his frightening words out of my mind, "We could pay our bills for another half year - perhaps more - if we cut out all luxuries." The enormity of our financial situation hit me in a fresh way and I started to cry. Sandy, my dear sympathetic friend, came over so she could nuzzle me with her velvety soft nose. I lifted my head and kissed her sweet nose for horses do have the softest and freshest smelling noses of all animals. I think we heard the noise at the identical moment because we turned our heads in the same direction. There it was again - a weak little noise that sounded very much like, "Whee-ninny-ninny!" I stood up and took Sandy's lead in my right hand and together we went to explore.
We came to a small depression in the earth and heard the sound again, "Whee-ninny-ninny!" It was louder this time but that was only because we were closer. Several more steps brought us to the edge of a large but shallow hole where I saw the whitest filly I had ever seen. Two enormous violet colored eyes wide with excitement and anticipation were staring back at me.

Madison embarks on an investigation that takes her from Estancia Mendoza in Argentina to London, England.
During her travels, Madison uncovers information about people she’s never heard of from countries she’s never visited. But, the most unbelievable connection is to the ancient world of Equines, the home of talking horses. What she learns changes the lives and fortunes of two families.
About the Author
Melissa MacShirley spent her childhood living on a ranch surrounded by horses, dogs, cats, and a variety of farm animals. She is a graduate of the University of California, San Diego. She currently lives in El Cajon, California.
