“Mommy, I am going to play that one. Someday, I am going to play that one on this stage,” the little girl motioned beautifully with her sweet, little hands.
“Are you now?” Her mother signed in response, her dimples and eyebrows raised.
“Yes,” Ellie mouthed back.
Ellie’s mother looked deep into her daughter’s eyes, as if she was reaching out and looking right into her heart.
“If you want to play the violin, you can do it. I believe in you, honey. There is nothing you can’t do.”

About the Book
Ellie dreams of playing the violin after attending a concert with her mother. But can she play the violin someday? Some people may not think so as she is deaf. But Ellie’s mother tells her that there is nothing she can’t do. It doesn’t matter that Ellie is deaf. It wouldn’t matter if she had polka dots, had ADHD, or had a blue mark on her face. Ellie can do anything. This book is written to inspire all children and tell them that they can do anything.
About the Author
S.J. Spaulding is currently a part time student and works as a paraeducator. She is passionate about God, family, kids, and writing. She began writing in third grade and hopes to write more children and youth stories. She prays that through her writing the gospel can be spread and that readers will experience God’s love through “Ellie Can Do Anything” and through other future stories.
About the Illustrator
Krista Van Bruggen is a mother of two beautiful girls and happily married farm wife. She enjoys working with her church, going on mission trips, traveling in general and being around people. Krista worked as a graphic artist, activities director, and an art teacher for individuals with disabilities. Currently she is a paraeducator. Krista never dreamed of being an illustrator but she is very excited to pair with Miss Spaulding in bringing her words to life.
