Torn is the first book in the Torn Trilogy. This story is about a young man named Christopher “Chris” Smith who struggles with acceptance and faith. He feels like an outcast in his church, people make fun of the way he looks, and he doesn’t have any friends. He desperately wants to fit in somewhere. At the most vulnerable time in his life, Chris is introduced to,“Luciferism.”

Over the course of the story, a chain reaction of tragedy and chaos affect people who have been a part of his life. This story is filled with suspense, thrilling plot twists, and unforeseen events. About the Author

James Owens was born in Orlando, FL in May 1976. James was raised in Orlando until his family moved to Deltona, FL in 1986. James has one sibling, an older sister. James attended Deltona Elementary School, Deltona Middle School, and Trinity Christian Academy in Deltona, FL. James attended Youth Group at Church in the Son in Orlando, FL. Where he received Jesus as his Savior.

James married his wife in January 2005 in Colorado. James served in the United States Army and went to college at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania where he majored in History. James also took online courses at Southern New Hampshire University, where he majored in English with a focus in Creative Writing.

James began his writing career in 2013. James’s writing comes from the dreams he has. James believes God has given him this gift, so he focuses his writing in the Christian fiction genre, focusing on suspense, and thrilling plots. When James isn’t writing, he enjoys spending time with his family fishing, watching movies, traveling, and reading. James is a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Chicago Cubs, and the Pittsburgh Penguins. James’s Favorite Christian band is Skillet and his favorite Christian music artist is Zach Williams. James and his wife have three children, a daughter and two sons.
