Theres a time of day when things dim to grey
Birds begin to settle down doing the last of their flying around
The world gets quiet amongst the chirps and sings, landing in their nests to fold up their wings
Flutter, flutter, flutter, flap, flap, flap, don’t worry Samara, tomorrow morning they’ll be back.
“What happens at night when I go to bed?” said she
Looking up at her mom ever so nervously.
She wondered and gasped at what could be said
All the while curling up her toes in bed.

About the Book
This story will poetically capture your little one’s imagination by connecting with a young girl named Samara anxiously being tucked in for the night. Samara expresses a consuming fear that she, along with many children, and even some adults have of the dark. Samara’s mother tells her the story of what happens at night, how the animals come out to eat all the while, reassuring her that nighttime is a beautiful time. She tells her daughter it is made by God, it belongs to God, and that everything God has made is good. Her mother shows her to stand on God’s word, informing her that verses will ease her nerves and that angels watch over her all through the night. These truths are very real for both children and adults, thus making this is a wonderful story for evening devotionals or bedtime. This story aids adults to touch on an important topic while guiding them to an effective way to grow and incorporate the truths of God’s Word to their faith.

Kay Waugh lives in the beautiful mountains of British Columbia, Canada with her children. Her favorite past times include: reading her Bible & Christian literature (she has way too many books), listening to audiobooks, being outdoors; hiking, running, walking, exploring, going to the gym & doing anything artsy. Since she was young she has always loved anything art, be it writing, poetry, drawing, doodling, painting, building or crafting.
