7 So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.
John 8:7
In closing this first devotional book, there must be a reminder to me and to you. Jesus response to the accusers of the woman caught in adultery; He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. Romans 3:23 is like a brick wall in front of us. It says that ALL have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. ALL really does mean ALL. We love to think and talk about the sin of others. It is easy to turn on the news, and see the weaknesses of others. People today relish in the fall of a politician, preacher or public official. It is an unfortunate church and societal reality…talk about everyone else’s failures. ** I would ask another question; How many days have you prayed and fasted for that weak person? Why do I ask that question? Because, AGAPE love tells me to pray for my weak brother or sister; do not spend time judging them. Praying and fasting and interceding for a struggling brother or sister is what Jesus would have us to do. ** What HE does not want us to do is to pick up a rock, forget our own sin, and kill off a weaker saint.
Romans 15: 1 tells us that We that are strong, ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves. ** If I am having a weak moment, please do not pick up a judgement stone, to hurl at me when I am down. Remember, your day is coming!! We all have sinful, and often embarrassing moments. If you pick up the stone, remember Jesus’ Words… Let he who is without sin cast the first stone at her. Who can cast a stone…No one? By the way, if you say in your heart, they should know better; this may be true, but then there is Jesus checking the iniquity of our very own hearts.
Agape love tells me NOT to pick up the stone, when Jesus made a stipulation…Let he who is without sin cast the stone. NONE OF US SHOULD EVER GO NEAR THE ROCK PILE, BUT GET TO KNEES, AND PRAY FOR THE WEAK. Jesus said that there were none there to condemn the woman. As much as HE told her to go and sin no more, HE gives all of us that same charge. So often, the sin we commit, is putting our fingers on others.
Today…and always; Let us remember that when we point the finger at other, there three fingers pointed right back at us. Stay away from the rock pile. We have all sinned; let us remember that our job is to pray for the weak, love and restore them…God Bless.

About the Author
Dr. Victor A. Kennedy, Ph.D. (Doctor of Theology), serves as one of the pastors in the Assemblies of Jesus Christ Ministries. He has been a member and minister there for nearly 25 years. He spent 11 years conducting weekly services at the Juvenile Detention Center in Rockville, Maryland, while serving as a police officer, and detective with the Montgomery County, Maryland Police Department. He served on the Montgomery County Police Department for 29 years, and retired in 2012. He was an investigator for 18 years in the Family Crimes Division-Missing Children’s Section, and handled over 8000 missing children cases. In 2013, Dr. Kennedy started a new life chapter, and now serves as a Case Manager 2 at the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in Alexandria, Virginia. He views his role in locating missing children as a direct parallel to his ministry; finding and recovering the lost.
Dr. Kennedy was privileged to represent the United States in international powerlifting competition. He was a 3-time Drug-Free National Powerlifting Champion (1989, 1991, 1992). He is a former American Record holder in the squat at 944 pounds. He often uses the challenges of lifting heavy weights, to illustrate spiritual lessons of life. In other words; No pain…No gain, or “You can’t quit halfway through the lift”.
Dr. Kennedy began sending out devotional text messages in 2015, as an encouragement to some of the church members. The 10 to 15 weekly recipients, quickly grew to over 100, and not long after, to over 200. The text message devotional ministry, opened the door for him to write this devotional book, “Meat in Due Season”. He stresses the main tenants of Jesus Christ’s amazing love and forgiveness for us. He frequently makes the point to forgive everyone for everything. The benchmark scripture that Dr. Kennedy weaves into his personal life, and writing is Mark 11:25-26, where Jesus says, if we do not forgive, we are not forgiven. Dr. Kennedy makes this a clear theme in his writing, teaching, and preaching.
He is a lifelong Maryland resident, and sincerely desires that all readers are strengthened and encouraged by this book.
