God Cares for You I went to see my family doctor. He was a nice man—kind, calm, and extremely caring. What would I tell him? How could he help me? Could he be trusted with my secrets. Dear God, please let him have some miraculous answer to my problem. As I sat on the examination table, my fingers caressed the tiny cross dangling from my neck. Somehow, holding on to it brought me a little peace and comfort. So many times, when my breath was stolen, I would reach for my necklace and hold tightly to the cross. Was God helping me? I wondered. When the doctor came into the room, he asked why I had come to see him. The words exhausted, restless, depressed, and anxious all escaped from my lips. He looked at me with eyes full of compassion, then examined me. He listened to my lungs, took my pulse, and listened to my heart. Then he said, “Gail, God knows when a tiny sparrow falls to the ground. I know He cares more for you than a thousand sparrows, and He knows how many hairs are on your head. Gail, God loves you.” Then he asked me one question: “Do you know where you would go if you died today?” “No, but I think I would go to heaven.” “There is a way you can know for sure. Please consider visiting my church.” His words pierced my heart. Church had always been a part of my life. I truly believed in God, but this doctor spoke about Him with assurance and confidence, as though he really knew God personally, not as if He were somewhere high up in the sky with a million people asking for help, thinking if they were lucky, they’d get an answer. Questions flooded my mind. Why didn’t God protect me? Would He love me even though I hadn’t lived a holy life? Is it possible to know God at all? My doctor was very confident that God would help me. There was a feeling of peace in the room that day I had never experienced before. If only I could stay for a while … A prescription of hope followed me the rest of the day. Have you ever been so desperate? Have you felt there was no one to talk with who could possibly understand your thoughts and feelings? Have you ever believed no one could love you if they knew all your secrets? Dear one, I have felt that way many times. God is the One who listens, knows our thoughts and all our secrets, and yet loves us in spite of it all. When you are ready, reach up to Him. Give it all to Jesus. Only He can take away your sorrow and give you joy. My prayer for you: Oh Lord, thank You for giving my doctor the boldness and compassion to share a seed of truth with me. May You draw the person reading my story to yourself. The truth shall set you free (John 8:32 NLT). The Lord looks at the heart (1 Samuel 16:7 NLT)

About the Book
Just think about it. When something wonderful happens, we want to share the experience with others. Sometimes we want to shout our joy from the mountaintop, the street corner, the platform, or Facebook. Gail DiMarco is one such person. About the Author
Gail DiMarco has been a disciple of Jesus Christ for thirty-nine years, a wife for forty-one, and a mother for forty-six. She is also a proud grandmother. Over the years, she has worn many hats in business and in the church. Gail was a business owner at the age of twenty and has maintained the entrepreneurial spirit to this day. In the church, she has loved the babes in the nursery, organized women’s conferences, and is now a speaker impassioned with sharing the good news of Christ and His redeeming power. Her zeal is contagious and her message heartfelt. “When I turned twenty-seven,” Gail says, “my life took on a new direction. I knelt at the feet of Jesus. He has been transforming my life ever since. I left behind a life of sorrow, pain, self-centeredness, and regret.”
Although many people have experienced the healing power of Christ, few share their personal transformation (a miracle as Gail calls it). She shares her personal story in hopes that others will find, accept, follow, and love the Savior. ¬There is no wound too deep for Him to heal. Please give Him a try.
