“Silly question. I’m on my way, as soon as I have this little girl safe in her mom’s arms. Where are you?”
Hi! My name is Kristie Jo Jackson. What’s yours? I am truly honored to meet you. As you sit side-by-side with me on my wildest Christmas ride ever, I would be tinkled pink and purple pleased to get to know you.
So every time you come across a star like this *, please ponder the question that follows it. Here are a few ways to answer it. Just wrap your thoughts around it, write it down, act it out, dance and sing it, draw it, tell it to a friend, answer it later, or completely ignore it. Any response that makes you happy makes me happy, as we take this short-in-time but long-on-love trip.
Share my emotionally charged, crazy, roller coaster ride over a few of the best and worst surprise-filled days of my life. Here we go! Take a deep breath. Now blow it out. And please, hold on real tight! I definitely don’t want to lose you.
Christmas is right around that delightfully decorated and downright delicious corner. Ever since I can remember, vacation time has been wonderfully wrapped with pretty paper, beautifully colored ribbons, and lots of tape, painstakingly planned mostly by my Mom.
As far as holidays or even vacations go, Christmas is especially special. An extra- ordinary event that’s jam-packed with family traditions. These two weeks magically zzzooom! It’s like the beginning and ending days just seem to bump heads. Ouch! What happened to the middle?? Time flies to the moon and back when you’re really having fun.
*What’s your name? Do you have traditions in your sweet family? Name a few things you do every Christmas. You can always start some, add more, or possibly change them. You are in the driver’s seat!
But this year’s “Celebrate Baby Jesus” time is to be extra extraordinary with candy-coated sprinkles, thick whipped cream, and lots of cherries on top! Why this year? Because my heavenly horse, Angel Wings, won the great Kentucky Derby! Really! No Joke! He didn’t just place or show—you know, come in second or third. My Angel Boy—I’m the only one who calls him this—came in first—Numero Uno—in the Run-for-the-Roses. Dreams can come true!
Daydream Control—Kristie Jo’s checkin’ in. The angelic wings of my Angel Boy—so saintly strong with the supercharged muscles of the heavenly holy things—fly faster than the speed of light to assist those in distress.
“Angel Wings, where are you? This is Mission Girl.”
“I’m rescuing a little girl from a burning house.”
“Hold on tight, honey. I’m taking you to your mommy,” Angel Boy says sweetly.
“So what’s goin’ on with you, Mission Girl?”
“There’s a hurricane brewing off the coast of Florida. My best friend, Josie, and her family are deep sea fishing in that area. The Coast Guard needs all the help they can get. Are you up for helping me save more lives?”
