“Too often, Christians operate in their own abilities while rejecting the mantle of Messiah that is lying at their feet. As a result, we see a very large segment of the church operating powerlessly in an ever darkening world. Entertainment value has replaced an encounter with God in our worship services, as far too many worship leaders seek talent over anointing. Three point dissertations have taken the place of supernatural ministry, as many preachers rely on their seminary training for sermon preparation rather than listening to the voice of God for direction. Very little room is provided for the Spirit of God to operate in our services between the widely accepted format of two or three songs followed by an offering, a twenty to thirty minute three-point sermon, communion, and one last song accompanying a brief five minute prayer session before dismissal. We grow uncomfortable during the time that the Lord begins to manifest His presence in our congregation, and quickly abort His work when our discomfort becomes unbearable. God is kept in a beautiful, stain glass box that we peer into once or twice a week. Our church services have become places where prodigal children visit their Father periodically on their own term, from a distance, and run away when God moves in for a closer encounter. The house of prayer has become a gathering of social convention, void of any real intercession, intimacy, and purpose beyond fulfilling expectation, paying the building’s mortgage, and having one’s ears tickled by a gospel often times foreign to scripture.
I am calling on us all to shred our mantle of self-made Christianity, intellectual reliance, talent based performance, expectancy founded actions, and our coverings of comfort. Messiah’s mantle demands total reliance on the Father, complete trust in Yeshua, and total obedience to the Spirit’s lead. God is a consuming fire that is shut up in our bones; that fire must be released in the world. He is a holy fire that melts the cold heart of a world frozen in sin. We are His hands and feet sent forth to spread the flames of revival and restoration. We are revolutionaries sent to bring revolution. To take up the mantle of our calling is to bring revolution, revival, restoration, and fire to the world. It begins when we are dismantled, stripped of our own desires, and humbled before God. It begins with a revival of repentance and a revival of holiness. It is the message of repentance that must resound within the walls of our church buildings again. Holiness must be stirred in our hearts, as in years past. Obedience to the Word must flow from the sons and daughters of God once again. It is time that we rebuild the broken alter of God in our life and in our congregation once again, as we dismantle the standing alters of sin, compromise, and the false gospels currently built up throughout the Church. Now is the time to awaken and arise!”

About the Author
Christopher Anderson is a Marine veteran, serving just under nine years on active duty with two combat deployments in Afghanistan to his credit. During his last deployment, Christopher’s first book, Back to the Basics: A Christian Boot Camp was released through CrossBooks Publishing. Upon leaving active duty, Christopher and his wife, Meagan, established Boot Camp Ministries. Their evangelism ministry has witnessed many souls added to the Kingdom with many healed from various afflictions and set free from demonic oppression. Together, they formed the music and ministry event Messiah Fest, which has quickly become a powerful corporate event held one weekend a year.
